Swimming Pool Crack Repair and Structural Repairs
Don’t let a swimming pool crack go unchecked!
Some cracks may just be superficial in the finish of the pool and don’t leak however, many will go all the way through the concrete pool shell which can allow water to leak out and compact or wash away the soil supporting the shell. If you are losing water and suspect a structural crack is your problem it needs to be stabilized as soon as possible to prevent further damage. We have customers who try to put a band-aid on a major problem by applying epoxy or cement every month or two over the surface of a crack to keep it from leaking. As the pool continues to crack and settle the hardened epoxy simply cracks and leaks through again. These attempts at patching a structural problem actually add to the cost and time it takes to correctly repair the crack. The longer you wait to deal with a structural crack the more difficult and costly it will be to repair. An expert repair can stop the crack and prevent further damage.
Once we have thoroughly checked the pool and determined the extent of the problem with a pool crack we can properly repair your pool shell. We first prep the crack and then inject a special low pressure epoxy injection through ports designed to seal the crack through the entire shell. Once that is complete we install special structural support locking staples that a specific amount of torque is applied to a locking nut to secure the crack and prevent future problems. Many companies will only seal the first inch or two of the crack and then improperly attempt to “staple the problem with materials not strong enough to provide any real support. On occasion we may need to undo a previous company’s work to properly fix the problem.
Call us today to inspect your pool. We first conduct a full leak test and then can give you an expert analysis and quote on what it will take to fix your problem.
